This is why I prefer digital media collections (that you actually own aka downloading files, not some cucked "library" you can only access over the internet like netflix). This is why I prefer cinema, it forces me to watch the movie and I don't clutter my shelves with DVDs of films I only watch once and then it just sits there staring at me untouched taking up space.
Owning physical videogames are okay (and at that only a few) since they could be regularly used but movies aren't the same.
And the CDs I own I bought in Japan were just because of how much of a fan I am of the idols but that too is pointless since they're just collectors items and I listen to the mp3s.
It's still really cool to own Seiko Matsuda albums that actually were made in the 1980s that I bought used and still play fine (I listen to them in my car CD player).
The new issue CDs I bought were kind of lame though and those can be easily imported if one were to really want to acquire them.
I'm just against merchandise. I don't like that kind of extravagance.
I am like that as well but with anime. That's mainly because of depression though. It makes it hard to focus on something that's outside of being lost in my own world mindlessly scrolling the internet. For me it actually takes "effort" to focus on anything outside of that even an anime (unless it's one I find to be especially engrossing).I watch films on VLC player with the run time displayed and it was like counting down the hours and minutes being in school. Sometimes I had to stop the movie, jot down the timestamp on a post-it note and divide a movie up into 4 parts. My "intermissions" would last 3 hours of browsing forums, or days I just don't have the attention span for a pointless 2 hour film. I did this with the live action Alita-Battle Angel, of which the Japan anime is still far better and only took 50 minutes to tell its story.
I was just about to mention that's why I could never watch Jackie Brown again. It was so tasteless and just messed up what otherwise would've been a good movie.I don't think you'd like it @Mafia due to Christian Slayter shagging the blonde in a phone box sex scene, that mogs worse than that one sex scene in Jackie Brown.
I liked Scarface but that's another movie I can't really watch again. It also takes itself too seriously compared to Tarantino movies so it's not really enjoyable for me.Oliver Stone
With anime I like to be really reflective and watch something deep but I see western movies as dumb so I want them to be entertaining above all.
The cover art grossed me out, I don't want to see anything about psycho freaks.Natural Born Killers
